The enduring popularity of Russian brides has been a fact in our popular Western culture at least since the end of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. Once the Berlin Wall fell in November of 1989, and also as a consequence of the efforts of then-Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev, it was like the dam holding back a sea of beautiful Russian women had finally been breached.

Not soon after the events which took place in 1989 and especially after the Soviet Union as we knew it began to dissolve in 1991, the idea of taking a bride who hailed from Russia began to take hold. This country, as we know, constituted the major part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, along with the Ukraine and Georgia and several smaller satellite countries.

Russian women had always been known by the sophisticated among us as being among the most beautiful, generous and kind of all the women of Europe and the far eastern territories of the European continent. In fact, an open secret among men looking for possible matrimony involving a European woman was that it was possible to date - and maybe eventually wed -- Russian women who looked like Gisele Bundchen and cooked like a world class chef!

The beautiful element in this equation has always been the loyalty, kindness and compassion shown by a Russian bride to her new husband. Perhaps it's a product of generations of such matchmaking in their native land, but no other woman comes close to being immediately comfortable in such a relationship, though she may only have known her beau for a relatively short amount of time before marrying.

70 Years ago in her native country my Grandmother was a young impoverished and abandoned girl.

She had no education nor cultivation of any kind.. but the one thing she did master was survival and obeying the law of the streets in the town she lived.  A brutal place where the cost of life was cheap..  and the cost of death was often much cheaper.

As fate would have it she managed to get a young Man to fall for her.  A young man who was to be my Grandfather.

At the time my Grandfather came from a wealthy and well known family.  And this family was horrified at the thought of “That Woman” being part of their clan..   They did everything they could to humiliate her..

One of the things that’s always appealed to me about Russian Women is just how happy and comfortable most of them seem to be in their own skin.

This is one of those deep feminine mysteries that I will probably never be able to figure out as a Man. Especially since using words to describe this just may be a futile attempt..

But it’s something that I can certainly FEEL when I around them.

And also..

I believe that it’s something that I can show a little bit of as well..

I just heard an unbelievable story from a lady friend of mine who works in a local business office.

A Woman walked into her office and introduced herself as a Manager for a new Marriage Agency in town.

She was specifically pitching “a new service” to the older single women in the office. And there are many of them as you can imagine. These women are at a huge competitive disadvantage because of the great numbers of younger women that are available here.

So the Marriage Agency Lady starts telling the older women (and I need to paraphrase here)..

“Look we know you want to find an American Husband and we are going to do that for you. What we will do is take a photo of you and we will photoshop it and make you look up to 20 years younger. Then we will post this photo along with a profile about you that any American Man would dream about on one of their Dating Sites and then we will start writing letters to Men we find on your behalf. It doesn’t matter if you don’t speak English or if you have a Poor Education we will “change” all of that for you.”

“All you need to do is give us some money and “we will take care of all of this”.. And you will be in business.”

Chirping of birds emerging from their sanctuaries ..

And children's sense of optimism and wonder how a person begins to experience the full start of Mother Nature in all its glorious beauty and energy.

This remarkable video shows, the chorus of Russian women serve in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk.

It's fantastic to see the traditional identity of these inspiring ladies just shined through during their performance.

And it's worth noting that the emotions I felt watching it completely reminded me of how much awe I was when I first arrived and began to experience a deep and powerful ocean of femininity for the first time.

If anything .. what are you going to see a good microcosm for some of the shiny faces of female elegance, beauty and magnificence, I personally was touched here ..

And it's greatness, with which I can only try to convey.

A college student was asked to leave mall

Richmond, Kentucky - 20-year-old Kentucky college student who was expelled from the mall because her dress was too short, hired a lawyer.

Kymberly Clem, 20, attends Eastern Kentucky University and said the incident occurred on Sunday, when the guard approached her at Richmond Mall and asked her to leave because of complaints of shortness of her dress.
