I am a very cheerful and positive person. I love life and like to have a good time. I always respond when I see that somebody feels bad and I try to help. I do not like to sit on one place, I prefer being active. I love traveling, reading books and watching old movies.

She's one of the most photographed women in the world. And as odd as it may sound the thing Maria Sharapova is most grateful for on her first visit to Auckland is: "no one has tried to take a picture of me eating a bowl of bolognese pasta with meat sauce all over my face".

That and other little gems is what an expectant press pack found out when the tennis beauty queen, the top seed at this year's ASB Classic, was paraded in front of us yesterday. Apparently, well-meaning fans have a habit of snapping her when she has "meat sauce" on her face, a habit she's not that fond of.

She is after all supposed to be a glamour-puss.

Call me crazy but Maria, as her meat sauce story would seem to suggest, seemed pretty damn unpretentious, dare we say ordinary. Just ask James McOnie.

The likeable larrikin, he of The Crowd Goes Wild fame, specialises in embarrassing sports stars and himself with zany questions. However, poor old James met his match yesterday. As well as the nice meat sauce line we learnt Maria likes to shop but hasn't had time to since here arrival here a few days ago.

McOnie offered to show her the ropes to which she inquired: "How's your taste? Is it good? I see you don't know too many hairdressers around here".

Nice serve that and ASB Classic organisers will be hoping we see plenty more of those when the tennis megastar graces ASB Tennis Centre this week.

I passed the following article to my wife Lena and she found herself in complete agreement with it. Her twin sister and several of her girlfriends (see above) are currently dealing with the normal trials and tribulations of being a single girl and dealing with the more negative aspects of the dating in Russia and the FSU.

I am constantly amazed at how our society has come to a point of repression to where we are not supposed to be free to use the words “Ugly” or “Fat”.

The road to HELL is always paved with “good” Feminist intentions. So in their zeal to further control our behavior by controlling our language they decide to invent new terms like “alternative appearance” or “appetite challenged”.

Communism was such a great experiment to see if these ideas for promoting “equality” were right. According to it.. if we could just make “everyone equal” we would all have a more harmonious and prosperous existence.

It was probably about 30F degrees today with a strong wind blowing in from the arctic.

In the time that I have been here this has to have been the shortest summer I’ve ever experienced in my life. I am truly amazed at how quickly this autumn cold and rain has literally dropped in on us. No use trying to use an umbrella today unless you wanted to turn it completely inside out and then throw it away.

One of my lady friends from the Northern Regions just informed me that it has already started to snow where she is from. Amazing.. and we are only in the last half of September.

Here’s the funny thing though..

Perhaps one of the most amazing things I’ve ever witnessed is the deep level of pride that Traditional Russian Women quietly carry within themselves.?

It’s something that’s incredible to experience but it can be very difficult to describe since it run’s completely counter to what Western Men are commonly used to seeing in the Women that surround them.

A Russian Woman’s pride is expressed in various ways but it’s especially noticable during the Dating Phase with how they expect to be treated by a Man.

Now the very first thing you should know about Russian Women and Dating is this…

They will NEVER Actively Pursue a Man.

There is a fierce snowstorm raging outside the Siberian right now.
