Info: The Next Russian Woman Sports Star.. in Golf!

It's a bit tongue in cheek interview I just found out about Ms. Maria Verchenova which a rising star in the Golf World.

When you read her interviews highlight how focused and aim it and how it probably was interviewed for a surprise.

You see, that can be viewed as "over-achiever" in the U.S. or Western girl that age is regarded as a perfectly normal thing here in Russia or the former Soviet Union.

So the main message I want to convey to you gentlemen out there?

If you want to associate with real Russian ladies like Mrs. Verchenova (not to mention trying to have a relationship with one), you may need to step up its own game, as a real person to a whole new level.

Because many Russian ladies who have stepped into his life, as Ms. Verchenova, of course, expect it from you too.

And if you're a regular reader of this blog ..

So I think it's something you have all understood by now.

Ave Maria!

(It's Latin for sweet mother of Jesus)

"All Russia is interested in tennis at the moment. Hopefully, I'll be the one to change things."

Stood in the window is more than just a beautiful woman with a golf club, Maria Verchenova has a burning desire to be the best golfer in the world.

The words of Ben Cove

I remember the moment I Frst frequency of eyes on Maria Verchenova, in fact, it's hard to forget.

Stood on the golf course in Turkish Ladies Open European tour in May last year, out of the corner of my eye I saw what looked like Penelope Cruz in a skimpy dress lining strike. It was one of those, Double-Take are times when you have to slap myself, so you do not really dreaming, or hallucinating. I ran straight to the LET Tour reputation and screamed ...

"Who the hell is that?

The answer was a delightful Soviet swingstress on your right. The girl who firted with leaders in the past 12 months, and turned heads at this, because it was rare, it was a Russian player in golf. Five months and hundred phone calls later, we meet at the Royal Blackheath Golf Club, bastion of nobility and golfng history in south London to watch a clash of worlds. Where old meets young, East meets West, and I meet a hot swinging bell in golf.

Born in the former Soviet Union in 1986, Verchenova not take golf until she was 12. But when she and her handicap down as icy temperatures of the Russian winter. And now, even the tender age of 23, she continued her fine form.

The perfect mix of silky smooth swing, bubbly person and heavenly prototype of the body - just as God intended the female form to be - it is live proof all too often undervalued golf glitter and glamor. Perhaps the sexiest thing on the tee box with Hugh Hefner of course was a hit-and-step set in his garden.

Tells Maria Verchenova ...

golfPunk: You look very natural behind the camera there Mary ...

Maria Verchenova: Yes, I love it! I've never been taught how to put on or anything like that, but did little modeling before, so I kind of know what I'm doing. I really enjoyed myself today, because we mixed golf with more sexy stuff - it's so cool.

GP: What's easier, modeling, or golf?

MV: Are you kidding me? Defnitely modeling! You just put some clothes and pose. If golf was that easy we would all be 20-under-par every tournament!

GP: So. Why golf?

MV: That's a question I often ask myself! Golf is not a big sport back in my homeland. When I was 12 my dad seemed to learn to play, so I just went to the golf club with him and had learned at the same time.

To be honest, I do not like it, I wanted to be a professional dancer of the ballet. But my dad is identifed, I had talent and encouraged me to practice hard on the driving range. Now that I'm on tour and make a living out of the game I love to play. So I guess he was right!

GP: Russia is not exactly known for his skill of golf ...

MV: Yes, Russia is interested in every tennis, tennis, tennis at the moment. Hopefully, I'll be one to change something!

GP: Inevitably, you have been compared with other sexual Russian athletes like Anna Kournikova and Maria Sharapova. How does this sit with you?

MV: Yes, many people say that, but I'm like, "Hey, guys come - I'm not blonde!" I was in Japan recently and there was no crowd shouted: "SHA-RA-POVA 'on me She's beautiful girl and a great athlete, but I do not want to Maria Sharapova in golf. I want to be a golfer - Maria Verchenova .

GP: You are obviously in great shape, you will work hard to keep your body in this state?

MV: Yes, my coach pulls me out of bed to exercise in the gym most days. But this is not a problem - I like to feel good and look good, so I'm doing this for myself and for my game.

GP: Are you still studying for a degree at Moscow State University sports, as you Crimea, time course and school?

MV: It was diffcult to juggle golf, study and exams, but it's for the better. I was at the university for many years FVE and this is my last year, so I would be foolish not fnish my degree now. Of course, there were many evenings spent doing homework in the hotel rooms here, there and everywhere, but I decided to turn pro and travel the world, so I'm not going to complain about it.

GP: You Crimea, it diffcult, to learn the rules and scoring systems for golf?

MV: I'm so ... Everyone does, though, is not it? I remember reading in my little pocket of St. Andrews collection of rules when I was younger, and I just could not understand half the rules - I still struggle with some of them. Fortunately, they have rules on offcials LET!

GP: Have you watched much golf on television as a child?

MV: Absolutely not. There are not any golf coverage on Russian television, so I do not even know what the masters there! I had no idea about the interest of the media or the prize money available. I just thought that the game of golf for a living is a lot of fun!

GP: At what point did you realize you could make a career of golf?

MV: When I was 16 I played with FVE and was selected for the Russian team golf. That's where I really improved, and realized that I was pretty good. And now here I am!

GP: What do you like to do away from the golf course?

MV: When I'm away from LET I go to a lot of dinners with sponsors and Pro-Am guests, so when I get some time to yourself it's nice to just relax. Sometimes I'll be by the pool reading celebrity gossip magazines, but usually you Crimea, I eat popcorn and watch TV!

GP: sugar or salted popcorn?

MV: Salt, of course!

GP: What do you watch on TV?

MV: A lot of American TV series "good. It depends on my mood really, sometimes I like comedy, but then I also love horror movies, they are great! I watch all the American material in English, and then catch up on Russian show When I got home.

GP: Favorite FLM?

MV: I love The Bodyguard. When I was younger I would watch it religiously twice a day: once before school and once in the evening. About a month FVE, my mom got sick and threw the DVD in the trash. It was a shame because I love Kevin Costner!

GP: What kind of music you into?

MV: Anything and everything. I like RnB, but also listen to Elton John, George Michael and Mariah Carey.

GP: Do you follow politics?

MV: Oh, no, because I can not understand what they're going on about! I tried to give it a go, read the newspaper several times, but that's just not for me.

GP: You live the student life of the party when you come back to Moscow?

MV: "No way - I'm an athlete! I'm trying to keep myself in good state of mind and body, because rarely go social season. This may sound boring, but I can go to a party in the winter and add a drop of vodka in my coke!

GP: You must have been in many big cities, you shopaholic?

MV: I love buying new clothes, but I can only work with it for no more than two hours - then I'm bored out of my brain. If I know what I want to go out and buy it and get out quickly. I do not go crazy, I'm trying to save my money!

GP: What other sports you?

MV: I like to play other sports for fun. Especially tennis, swimming, and I love basketball, but I refuse that!

GP: Why did you turn pro at such a young age?

MV: A lot of people wanted me to stay as an amateur and get more experience while fnishing school, but I played a lot of amateur golf, and it does not give me the same buzz or prestige, as I now have a professional ranks. Of course, you play your round, and it's good to win, but you take home trophies and put them on the shelf and that's it. I was like, 'So what? Is that it? "I knew I wanted more of a problem.

GP: And since life in LET?

MV: It was really fun actually, I met many new friends, but also I am very hometown girl, so I missed being with my family in Moscow, from time to time. I tried to treat tour of life as work, gym, variety and, of course, it's my day job. I used to win more in my amateur days, and something I want to Crimea, again on tour. It would be nice to have another collection of trophies ... and some big checks to pay!

GP: You got a fair bit of media attention during the British Open at Sunningdale last year because of what you were wearing. How does this sit with you?

MV: I enjoyed it. I've always wanted to bring something extra special golf course, so if I wear sexier, more stylish things like short skirts or good tennis-style dress and people notice it more.

GP: Can golf be sexy?

MV: It depends on how you react and how you dress on the golf course, but I'm sure, why not? Everything has changed - golf defnitely cool, and hey golf can be sexy!

GP: What would you rather be known as the sexiest woman or a great golfer?

MV: I will stop at both, thanks!

GP: You have been the leading event in Morocco recently, but dropped a large banner at FNAL day. Is the pressure of leading Feld get to you?

MV: It was a combination of things really. It was hot and we played passionately pro-AMS every day which kept us on course for six hours each time, and it took her. Also, I was in a group with Laura Davies FNAL which was pretty scary ... sometimes she hit a wedge and I beat FVE-iron! But hey, it's an experience I will learn.

GP: What are your ultimate goals?

MV: In the end, I want to replace Lorena Ochoa as the world number one. But if I win US Open, and play in the Solheim Cup on the way I'd be so happy.

GP: You said you missing your family when you're away, how close you are, as a family?

MV: I have a younger sister at the age of 16 years. She plays three at the moment and will likely join me in the Tour one day.

GP: There's still one of you! Tell me more ...

MV: Well, she's very talented golfer, her handicap is much better than I had at her age. Oh, and it is taller than me, and I would say that she prettier than me.

GP: It sounds, um ... awful! So in the next few years - when you both meet the fag for Russia in the Tour - we can do is to shoot with you and your sister together?

MV: That's it!
